Shahad Ameen is an award-winning Saudi writer and director from Jeddah. Her short films “Leila’s Window” and “Eye & Mermaid” screened and won awards at several international festivals. Her debut feature, “Scales”, premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and was selected as Saudi Arabia's submission to the Academy Awards. “Hijra” is her second feature film.
