Born in Berlin, Ina Weisse is an actress, screenwriter, and director with over three decades of experience in theatre, television, and film. She studied philosophy in Heidelberg and trained at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Her short film "Everything different" (2002) won the First Steps Award. Her debut feature "The Architect" (2008) earned the Max-Ophüls-Preis for Best Screenplay. In 2017, she directed the documentary "The Neue Nationalgalerie" about Berlin’s iconic museum. Her psychological drama "The Audition" (2019) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won Nina Hoss the Silver Shell at San Sebastián and Best Actress at Stockholm.
