Brasília, Brazil, native Marianna Brennand has a BA in Film Studies from USC. A cultural producer and filmmaker, she founded "Inquietude" in 2007 with the aim of preserving and promoting Brazilian cultural values through audiovisual productions. Before making her narrative feature debut with "Manas", she made two documentaries, "O Coco, A Roda, O Pnêu e O Farol" (2007) and "Francisco Brennand" (2012), winner of the São Paulo International Film Festival’s Best Brazilian Documentary prize and the Brazilian Association of Film Critics Award for Best Brazilian Film.
