Bogota, 1996. The devil is prophesied to appear at the moment of the imminent lunar eclipse, and Bogotans are terrified. Mila, 13, is feeling increasingly oppressed by the way that others are looking at her, and wonders whether the metamorphosis of her body has anything to do with the prophecy. She left Colombia to study at the Paris-Cergy School of the Arts. On completing her studies, she moved to Tijuana to make her first short fiction film, “Pedro malheur”, which won a special mention from the Jury at the Clermont-Ferrand festival in 2014 and was shown at several European festivals. Her latest short, “Pacífico oscuro”, was selected for the Locarno Film Festival 2020. “Mi bestia”, her first feature film, is inspired by memories of Colombia in the 1990s.
