Fanny is 17 and still searching for herself. Shy and sensitive, she struggles to make friends her age. When she goes to Germany for a language exchange, she meets her pen pal Lena, a teenager who dreams of getting involved in politics. Fanny is troubled. To please Lena, she is ready to do anything.

Claire Burger is a French screenwriter and director.
Her short film "C’est gratuit pour les filles," co-directed with Marie Amachoukeli, won the Best Short Film award at the 2010 César Awards.
"Party Girl," her first feature film, co-directed with Marie Amachoukeli and Samuel Theis, opened the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes in 2014, where it received the Caméra d’Or.
In 2018, she wrote and directed "C’est ça l’amour," which won the Best Film award at the Venice Days.
Selected in competition at the 2024 Berlinale, "Langue Étrangère" is her third feature film.
